Default EB games dropped the ball

Well I got a call to come pick up GW today from EB games in cambridge Mass. I go with my sales slip wait in line for 10 minutes because only 1 dude isn't on break then wait about 5 for him to look for it. He finally asks me to come back when his boss get back. So I leave head down to a Dunkin Donuts and have a quick coffee. I return about 20 minutes later and am told that the special edition isn't available today. I ask if it would be in before thursday and the response I got was if its not in tomorrow then I don't know. This is garbage. Why would they call me and tell me it was in only to tell me there are none in stock when I get to the store.

WTF is the point of pre-ordering though? If I was you I would tell them it cost you extra money in Gas and your time for there mistake, tell the mgr he/she needs to credit you back some cash for the inconvienance they created

I pre-ordered with EB and went there today and got it just fine
I guess here in Missouri they are more organized or something...

There is a Best Buy next door. If the game isn't in by thursday I will be getting a refund and never shopping there again. I will also Email there head office with a complaint. The part that really burns my ass is the fact they called me and told me to come pick it up. I can deal with it not being there since the game isn't officially due out until the 28th but why the hell call me and tell me to come get it.

To the poster above me just curious but did you get the collectors eddition?

erm i dunno.. the pre-order i got might be.. it says its exclusive for customers of EB games

but the full version i got seems to be just a normal copy... they had 3 different boxes though... just different pics though.

^ really? i got a double-sided box on my standard edition. it has the elemental chic on one side, and a warrior dude on another, and they both open up.

^ yeah thats the same one I have.. i just mean it doesn't say "Collectors Edition" on it...thought it was just the normal box for the game..

Not in defense of EB or anything (I worked for their competition), but it might not be the stores fault.

At Gamestop we didn't call the customers when the games came in. An automated service from our corporate office did. This usually was great because it meant one employee wasn't on the phone all day.

Other side of the coin was that sometimes UPS dropped the ball. We might not get the shipment when UPS said we would...gets lost, is late, whatever. Then the calls have been made and there isn't anything to be done about it.

Yes, if it doesn't come in on time, get your money back or get at least a 10% discount on the game when it does come out. This was our standard procedure in such cases...along with much groveling.

Same thing happened to me. I got frustrated but there really isn't anything you can do or the store for the mistake. I have a friend picking it up tonight and then I'll pick it up tomorrow. Saves me another 30 minute drive to go and get told that their head is up their ass again!

I'm ready to game...

I got mine with no problem. When I picked it up, the sales clerk mentioned driving all the way to manchester, nh (half hour drive) to get the copies.

i would RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing complain and get some money off the game or get it for free cuz thats just bullshit wasting ur time going there and getting nothing.. man if that happened to me.. i would get a huge discount and make sure of it

I picked up my Reg. Edition today. One of my freinds came with who ordered the Special Edition. They said the Special Edition didn't ship as fast as the regular, wouldn't be here till late wednesday.

Best (im sorry, did i say best? i mean worst) Buy wouldnt let me change my preorder to collectors edition after they couldnt get the deluxe edition, so i had to cancel my preorder, and now just get there as soon as possible and buy it. oh the stupidity....

Default My EBGames is pathetic!

After going through the process a second time I was told by the idiot there that he didn't realize I had gotten the CE edition. I'm going to complain again tomorrow because the same kid said I couldn't be compensated for my wasted time and huge inconveniance! I'll complain again tomorrow and get this whole thing taken care of! EBGames may not be at fault but they are currently my problem and I wanna kick someone's butt and get my problem taken care of. Gotta love it when people are too stupid to realize the problems they create for others.

It'll "supposedly" be in tomorrow by late morning! Lets see if I believe that one!

Enough of my ranting though...

Yeah, my friend works at EB and I was the first one to get my copy of GW it came in right when i got there....They short chagned the EB though...my EB had aorund 17 peorders...and they only got 11 boxes =X seemstheres a problem with the distribution system.


EDIT: IM in missouri though..so GO MISSOURI WOO!
